“Cuore sacro”: piedad posmoderna

936full-cuore-sacro-screenshotDentro del Festival Mix y como parte de la retrospectiva al director Ferzan Özpetek, la Cineteca Nacional presentó la cinta Corazón sagrado (Cuore Sacro, 2005).

El filme narra la transformación de Irene Ravelli cuando ella entra en crisis y cuestiona su propia imagen de mujer de éxito. El primer hecho que desencadena esta transformación ocurre cuando una pareja con quien tenía una amistad cercana, y con quienes mantenía ciertos negocios que al parecer no les beneficiaron, se suicida al tiempo que a ella le otorgan el premio a empresaria del año.

Irene Ravelli (Barbora Bobuľová), protagonisa del filme, representa a la mujer de éxito de principios del siglo veintiuno. Heredera de una fortuna familiar, se ha hecho cargo de la empresa inmobiliaria que su padre le ha dejado y con gran habilidad ha conseguido hacerla despuntar. Irene es una mujer ligera de prejuicios y de principios, vestida con traje sastre de Armani y Chanel, sin marido, rica, exitosa, pragmática. Le acompaña la tía Eleonora, matrona invencible y reina en elegancia y firmeza de carácter, hermana de su padre y que se encargó de cuidarla desde muy pequeña.

Despúes del suicidio de sus amistades, Irene entra por primera vez en la habitación donde su madre pasó los últimos años de vida, en el viejo palacio de la familia Ravelli que la empresa que Irene dirige quiere convertir en un edificio de minidepartamentos de lujo.

En la habitación de su madre las paredes están llenas de inscripciones ininteligibles y de iconografía religiosa. Según la versión que Irene conocía, su madre había pasado sus últimos años sumida en un delirio religioso, obsesionada con la santidad y había perdido todo interés por ver a su hija.

Durante su visita al palacio, Irene conoce a Benny, una niña de los barrios pobres de Roma que ladinamente le roba la cartera. Hay algo extraordinario en Benny que provoca la simpatía de Irene. Es una niña que cuenta poco sobre sí misma, que no hace lo que dice, que no se preocupa por someterse a autoridad alguna y que roba para tener cosas que dar a los demás. Todo esto lo va descubriendo Irene que, fascinada quizás por la vitalidad de Benny, se cuestiona su propia vida y el mundo que representa.

Entonces Benny muere repentinamente e Irene pierde por completo su imagen de sí misma. En una reunión de negocios ella pierde el control frente a un nutrido grupo de inversionistas, empieza a balbucir porque se vuelve ya incapaz de articular el discurso que sostiene su imagen de exitosa empresaria posindustrial.

Ante esta ruptura, Irene se convierte en una filántropa compulsiva e impotente frente a un mundo de miseria antes invisible para ella. Convierte la vieja casa de su familia en un refugio para indigentes, y cambia la relación que tiene con su madre muerta, con quien quizás ahora siente una mayor cercanía que con su tía Eleonora.

Corazón sagrado es en definitiva una gran película que nos ofrece una crítica a la voracidad del mundo capitalista de principios del siglo XXI. Actúan Barbara Bobulova, Andrea di Stefano y Caterina Vertova en los roles principales.
