Entrevista a Michio Nishihara

(Chile) Es un destacado pianista chileno. Recibió su formación musical en Chile con el maestro Oscar Gacitúa, luego en Polonia con Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron (Master of Fine Arts en 1997), culminando sus estudios formales con un posgrado de más de dos años en el célebre Conservatorio Tchaikovsky de Moscú, en la clase del afamado concertista y pedagogo ruso, Víctor Merzhanov.

Ha realizado su carrera principalmente en países de Europa y Latinoamérica, con diversas actuaciones en importantes salas del Reino Unido, Alemania, Francia, España, Polonia, Rusia, Rumania, Italia, Hungría, Argentina, Perú y Chile. Michio Nishihara Toro ha impartido clases magistrales  en el Conservatorio Nacional de Lima y en el Conservatorio de Sevilla

A.I: Michio, ¿quiénes fueron tus primeras influencias?

Mis primeras influencias fueron unos discos de Chopin, en una cara venía el Concierto en fa menor tocado por Ashkenazy, y en la otra cara (era un vinilo) venían reproducciones de grabaciones muy antiguas de Chopin, entre otros de Busoni y D´Albert. El otro disco era uno doble con los 21 nocturnos.

A.I: ¿Cómo te iniciaste en el arte de la música?

En Antofagasta me inscribieron en el Conservatorio de Antonino Toro donde mi profesor fue Mario Baeza, ahí fueron mis primeras clases y encuentros con el piano.

A.I: ¿Cómo se mezclan y/o complementan tus trabajos?

Afortunadamente mi trabajo ha sido solo uno, tocar y preparar mis conciertos…, no me  he dedicado mucho a la docencia, aparte de algunas clases maestras y clínicas por ahí; aunque ahora estoy creando una academia de piano clásico en Santiago así que ahí si creo que voy a  tener que complementar distintos tipos de actividades. Cuando pruebe bien cómo funciona la mezcla, ahí te cuento.

A.I: ¿En qué te inspiras?

No hablaría de inspiración, no soy compositor, solo un ejecutante…más que inspiración pensaría en una especie de emocionalidad controlada y re-ordenada que uno debe desarrollar: la música es a veces para uno como una avalancha de sentimientos y sensaciones, y uno como “intérprete” o mediador, entre ella y el oyente, debe ser capaz de ordenar esa avalancha, poder reorganizarla en términos que sean de alguna forma  comprensibles, claros y visibles para el oyente.

A.I: ¿Qué es la música para ti?

La música es lo más bello que existe en el mundo, por lejos.

A.I: ¿Cuál ha sido tu proyecto más importante, Actualmente, estás en alguno?

Mi proyecto es siempre el mismo, tener uno o dos programas y poder llevarlos a la gente; luego esta el proyecto de la exploración de nuevos repertorios, nuevas obras, y también un desarrollo personal de uno mismo, que en el intérprete también existe…, no se trata de hacer siempre “lo mismo” y dar “más de lo mismo”, debería ser siempre algo nuevo, fresco y estimulante.

A.I: ¿Metafóricamente qué es: el sonido y la música?

El sonido es nada. La música es un misterio, como el amor o la esperanza, que existen y no nos explicamos el por qué ni para qué. La diferencia es que la música la inventamos nosotros, supuestamente…

A.I: ¿Michio, cuál es tu sueño?

Mi sueño es que cada vez me importe menos aún el qué dirán y lo que diga la gente, poder liberarme y relajarme, para tocar la sonata de Liszt, entre otras cosas.

A.I: ¿Cuál es tu visión de mundo y cómo se traduce esa visión en tus interpretaciones o en los repertorios que eliges interpretar?

Mi visión de mundo es “Se vive una sola vez: aquí y ahora”  y se traduce dándolo todo en el escenario, sin cálculos de ninguna especie.

A.I: ¿Michio, sí pudieses llevarme por un tour “artístico musical” a dónde iríamos?
