Pintando con luz. Pierre Soulages en el Museo de la Ciudad

soulages(Mex)Después de una serie de importantes remodelaciones y adaptaciones tanto arquitectónicas como museográficas —que corrieron a cargo del arquitecto mexicano Mauricio Rocha—, los espacios del Museo de la Ciudad de México se pueblan con una vasta colección de obras del pintor francés Pierre Soulages (Rodez, 1919), hoy reconocido como el pintor vivo más importante de la escena artística francesa y contemporánea.

La obra de Soulages ha descansado en los museos y galerías más importantes del mundo, lugares como el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York, la Tate Gallery de Londres o el Centro Pompidou de París, teniendo en todos una gran convocatoria.

La exposición en el Museo de la Ciudad de México, curada por Pierre Encrevé —especialista en la obra de Soulages— y por Alfred Pacquement —director del Museo Nacional de Arte Moderno del Centro Pompidou—, recoge más de cien obras que, organizadas cronológicamente, invitan al espectador a seguir el lento desarrollo, el lento anochecer, que va de un Tachisme —estilo pictórico de origen francés— todavía permisivo con el negro, hasta la consumación de la noche total; consumación del periodo que el propio Soulages ha denominado Noir Lumière (Negro Luz) u Outrenoir (Ultranegro).

Si bien Pierre Soulages es famoso por sus pinturas casi o completamente negras, la persecución del hilo negro ha sido progresiva. “El pintor del negro”, como ha sido etiquetado por la crítica, comenzó pintando sobre papel y elaborando alquitranes sobre vidrio; sin embargo, es desde el año 1979 que se inicia una nueva etapa en su obra. El ultranegro de Soulages no es, como tal, la cancelación de la luz ni del color en el cuadro, sino su afirmación más plena. El pintor francés, antes que pintar con el negro, pinta con la luz inmaterial, como si la “luminosidad” fuera un pigmento más en la paleta de posibilidades de creación.

Es loable el arduo trabajo en la museografía que se realizó en éste recinto ubicado en el centro histórico de la ciudad, pues no debe ser nada fácil enfrentarse al ultranegro de Soulages. El tratamiento de la luz en el museo tuvo que ser, necesariamente, muy cuidadoso por el mismo carácter y textura de las obras y, con seguridad, si el tratamiento lumínico del espacio hubiera sido otro, también otra habría sido la experiencia de las obras.

La exposición ya está abierta, de martes a domingo de 11:00 a 17:00 hrs., y concluirá hasta el 22 de agosto de 2010.
